Nissan LEAF Sets New US Electric Car Sales Record

When the Nissan LEAF first went on sale in the American market, the plug-in hybrid car raised a few eyebrows. Now, the LEAF is considered the best-selling electric car in the world—and it isn’t finished quite yet. Nissan recently announced that the LEAF has officially set a new US electric car sales record in 2014.

US Electric Car Sales RecordAfter posting a total of 3,102 units sold in December, the LEAF sold a total 30,200 units in 2014. This record-breaking sales year means that the LEAF has sold a total of 72,322 units in the United States alone. The LEAF is one of three plug-in cars that make a lasting impression on American consumers, selling more than 1,000 units a month.

Nissan builds each of its LEAF hatchbacks at its assembly plant in Smyrna, Tennessee. Make sure you stop in to Lewis Nissan today for more information on the record-breaking, eco-friendly car. You can even give it a test drive!

The 2014 Nissan Frontier: What You See Is What You Get

The 2014 Nissan Frontier small pickup truck has remained true to its roots, keeping the same design for a whole decade. This is unusual for popular vehicles, because they usually end up undergoing drastic stylistic changes over the years to keep the model looking fresh and up-to-date.

2014 Nissan Frontier - Lewis NissanThe Frontier runs off of a V-6 engine that shows off its 261-horsepower and its abilities to handle all types of terrain. The New York Daily News reports that the “Frontier is a simply smaller, more nimble, and more maneuverable vehicle than a full-size truck. Tidier dimensions come in handy in urban parking situations, and when off-roading on tight trails.” Because of its small size, the Frontier is more practical to own than larger trucks, thanks to its superior functionality when it comes to performing everyday tasks.

Keeping the same design for ten years is a true accomplishment, especially when car companies are frequently scrambling to “rebrand” automobiles that are losing their appeal. The Frontier’s endurance can be viewed as being a testament to the truck’s reliability. Sometimes new isn’t always better, and if it isn’t broken, why fix it? Get your hands on your own steadfast 2014 Frontier here at Lewis Nissan!

2014 Nissan LEAF Named One of the Best Car Deals

2014 Nissan LEAFThe 2014 Nissan LEAF is no doubt an exceptional electric car, and Kelley Blue Book has taken note of that fact. Torque News has reported that the tiny hatchback has recently been named by KBB as one of the ten best new car deals of September.

The LEAF is known for being both environmentally friendly and easy on the wallet, with a KBB “fair purchase price” of $26,246. (The fair purchase price is a calculation of what a consumer will actually pay for a car, after incentives and other discounts are factored in).

Nissan is also a company that never stops improving. The Motley Fool says that in order to increase the car’s selling power “Nissan improved its range to about 84 miles (not too bad for a pure EV), added new features, and addressed battery and charging problems.”

There’s a reason you see so many Nissan Sentra and Versa sedans populating the roadways. Not only do they offer reliable performance and innovative technology, they are also some of the most affordable vehicles on the market. Both sedans were named to Cars.com’s list of the Top 10 Cheapest New Cars You Can Buy.

2014 Nissan VersaCars.com ranked the top 10 list by adding the cost of the industry’s most fuel-efficient vehicles with its destination fees and the estimated gas costs over the next eight years.

We at Lewis Nissan are proud to note that Nissan was the only automaker with two vehicles to make the list.

“Both Sentra and Versa Sedan feature notable fuel economy, advanced technology options, and an economical starting price that even the most frugal buyers can appreciate,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations.

Nissan Sending Two Altima Supercars to Sydney for V8 Championship

2014 Nissan AltimaThe 2014 V8 Supercars Championship kicks off this Saturday, February 15, over in Australia at the Sydney Motorsport Park. Though it’s just a preseason test, the Nissan brand—and, by extension, the staff here at Lewis Nissan—has a lot riding on the race. The pre-season work will be our first chance to see Norton Nissan’s latest beauties, the Nissan Altima V8 Supercar, out on the track.

The new Norton Altimas sport Norton Hornet colors, especially a bright yellow exterior paint job. The 2014 Altimas also feature slight redesigns to add even great aerodynamics to the vehicles’ performance. All in all, these are two sharp-looking new V8s, and Nissan can’t wait to see them sting the competition in Australia.

Norton Nissan drivers James Moffat and Michael Caruso will be behind the wheel of these supercars—and both drivers expressed excitement and anticipation for the season. “We’re looking forward to the 2014 season,” said Moffat. “Motor racing is a ‘must deliver’ business, but more so for Nissan Motorsport this year. In this industry, nothing speaks stronger than results, and that’s what we are here to achieve this year.”

Caruso echoed that sense of responsibility to Nissan. “For Nissan Motorsport and the two Norton Altimas, it’s important that we show strong improvement in our second year, and it’s critical that we start to win races.”

Luckily for both Moffat and Caruso, it seems they are set up in the best possible car to deliver exactly the kind of results both they and their sponsors desire.

Nissan Delivers Versa Note in Giant Amazon Box

2014 Nissan Versa NoteDon’t you love it when you come home to find an Amazon box sitting on your doorstep? Sometimes, as the saying goes, good things come in small packages, but often, bigger is better and recently Nissan delivered the biggest Amazon package ever!

For one lucky customer in Madison, Wisconsin, they received their new Nissan Versa Note delivered via Amazon box. Nissan had plans to do a video and press release later this month, but unfortunately for Nissan, one Reddit user spilled the beans on what was going to be a big surprise later this month. The recipient of the package, however, did know it was coming.

So, how did this happen, you might be wondering. Well, late last year, Amazon was selling the Nissan Versa Note online. When customers placed their orders, they would then be connected with their local Nissan dealer. The first 100 people to order got $1,000 Amazon gift cards. Then, Nissan chose one of those customers to receive their new car in an Amazon box.

Nissan will be revealing more details about the winner later this month when it releases its planned video.

2014 Nissan Rogue Adds High-Tech Driving Features

2014 Nissan Rogue

2014 Nissan Rogue

Nissan engineers wanted the 2014 Nissan Rogue to be easier and more fun to drive. To achieve this, they incorporated state-of-the-art driving technologies, including Active Trace Control, Active Engine Braking, and Active Ride Control. All of these features come standard on the new 2014 Rogue.

This technology, “adds to the performance feel of the vehicle because it makes it easier to drive,” said Nissan engineer Matthew Hart. “This kind of system is typically what you see on performance-oriented vehicles.”

Active Trace Control helps the car follow your intended path. The system uses something called Corner Brake Assist to make it easier to turn sharp corners while steering less. Active Under Steer also works as part of this package and also works to help you follow your driving line.

Helping drivers feel more confident when they have to brake quickly is the Active Engine Braking. It gives you subtle assistance by slowing down the engine.

Active Ride Control helps smooth out the bumps on the road. Once you drive over a bump in the Rogue, the system automatically applies the brakes and makes adjustments to the engine torque to reduce the “head bobble” feeling you using experience while going over bumps.
