Get the Ride of Your Life in the Nissan Altima

2015 Nissan Altima - Ride of Your LifeWhen you think about a four-door sedan, racetrack thrills usually don’t come to mind. However, for a lucky group of people that’s exactly what they got with the 2015 Nissan Altima. This was all part of Nissan’s second “Ride of Your Life” campaign.

Last year, in the Ride of Your Life campaign, participants were told they were going for a ride in a real racecar; however, this car turned out to be the 2014 Altima in disguise. For this year’s fun, lucky guests were invited to a mall and each got a turn to attempt to “unlock” a large glass box. For the lucky few that got the box to open, they found a bright red 2015 Altima. A professional driver then took them on some thrilling laps around the track. And then, the passengers were given the chance to be the drivers.

“Consumer response to last year’s campaign was so strong, we just had to play it again, even bigger and better,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America, in a statement. “You can see the excitement on the participants’ faces when the Altima is revealed at the mall, and especially after their track ride-and-drive experience – reinforcing our belief that Altima is no ordinary mid-size sedan.”

Stop by Lewis Nissan today to experience the thrills of the 2015 Nissan Altima for yourself.

New Nissan Pathfinder Named to KBB.com’s Best Family Cars List for 2015

The Nissan Pathfinder is now a repeat winner of a Best Family Car award from KBB.com. After a redesign, the next-generation Pathfinder has been blazing a trail of excellence ever since. The mid-size SUV has landed back-to-back acknowledgements on the Best Family Cars list thanks to its improvements in comfort, roominess, safety technology, and rear entertainment technology.

Those improvements—not to mention best-in-class ratings in towing capacity, passenger volume, and fuel efficiency—made the Pathfinder one of only two mid-size SUVs to make the list. The list is compiled by a panel of expert editors as well as normal families. The cars go through rigorous testing to determine which ones should be included on the list—and the Pathfinder passed all the tests with flying colors.

Best Family Cars List - Nissan Pathfinder“Completely redesigned just two years ago, 2015 Pathfinder retains its core values of fun, utility and fresh style while also adding a number of exciting enhancements beneficial for the whole family,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “With plenty of cargo space and interior room, and a smooth ride with solid handling, the 2015 Pathfinder is a classic ‘family-first’ vehicle, and we’re elated to once again be included among Kelley Blue Book’s Best Family Cars.”

Come see us here at Lewis Nissan to see all the features of the new Pathfinder, from the 8.0-inch touch-screen monitor, the EZ Flex Seating System, and a 13-Speaker Bose Premium Audio system. Of course, it also drives pretty well too. Come see us for a test drive today.

Kiplinger’s Calls 2015 Nissan Murano ‘Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover’

Every year, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance publishes its 2015 Best Value Awards. This year, the publication has awarded the 2015 Nissan Murano with the award for “Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover.” To qualify for the title of “Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover,” the vehicle must be fully redesigned or all-new, not just updated.

2015 Nissan Murano - Best New/Redesigned Midsize CrossoverTo come to its findings, Kiplinger’s evaluates vehicles based on their driving impressions, performance, price, safety, resale value, fuel economy, and overall value. The top performers are then featured in their annual buying guide, Deals on New Wheels—a top honor for the chosen vehicles. The publication, which is full of helpful information for new car shoppers, will hit newsstands on February 10th.

Kiplinger’s notes that the Murano takes the title of “Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover” thanks in-part to its excellent fuel economy. Rated at 28 mpg highway, the Murano ranks 20% higher than its 2014 counterpart in both the front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive models.

Here at Lewis Nissan, we encourage you to stop by our showroom and see for yourself why the redesigned 2015 Nissan Murano is this year’s “Best New/Redesigned Midsize Crossover”!

2015 Nissan GT-R: A Speed Demon With a Modest Price

2015 Nissan GT-RThe 2015 Nissan GT-R has had its first drives and the reviews are pouring in, sparkling and incredibly positive. This model compares well in performance to a similar Ferrari or Lamborghini.

Drivers are raving over it’s hand-built, twin-turbo 3.8 liter V6; a monster drivetrain that produces 545 horsepower and 463 pound-feet of torque. The all-wheel drive system sends the torque to the rear of the vehicle before propelling 50% of it to the front, aiding in traction and acceleration.

According to Nick Jaynes of Digital Trends, “On a twisty, deserted road, the GT-R is one of the most enlivening vehicles I’ve ever encountered.” It bursts forward when you tap the gas and breaks on a dime. The steering is succinct and perfectly controlled. The car is a veritable monster that you can drive in everyday life.

The monster is loud, but who isn’t willing to sacrifice that for the power at half the cost you normally pay for that type of driving experience. The inside is equipped with all of the modern technology, as well as Recaro sport seats.

We at Lewis Nissan can’t wait to put you inside such a powerful driving machine, or any one of our other smooth rides.

2015 Nissan Versa NoteA model with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) that the driver controls like an automatic is still inexpensive, costing a low $16,240. You can thank the active grille shutters on both Versa Note models that improve aerodynamics by “automatically closing off some grille openings once the car is moving at more than 20 miles per hour” (Abc News).

Best-Selling Altima Ups the Ante for 2015

2014 Nissan AltimaNissan has announced some exciting changes to the Altima for 2015. Several trims will feature improved standard features, impressive technology, and a variety of options in an effort to make one of Nissan’s best-selling cars, even better.

The Altima’s top two V-6 trim levels will now come standard with NissanConnect infotainment system which features navigation and apps, and driver assist safety technology including blind spot warning, moving object detection and lane departure warning.

The mid-level 2.5 and 3.5 SV models will see a new 8-way power driver’s seat, and in an effort to improve fuel economy, the 3.5-liter V-6 Altimas have been tweaked for a one mile-per-gallon increase in fuel economy ratings, now getting 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.

Another small, but welcomed update is the black carpeting and lower side trim that now comes with the beige interiors. The contrasting new interior not only appears sleeker, but conveniently hides dirt that inevitably makes its way to the floor mats.

Along with these updates come with a bit of a price jump across all trim levels (except the Altima 2.5 S, which dropped in price). The jump is minimal compared to the features gained, and we think the updates are well worth the price.
