The redesigned V-Motion grille and headlights resemble Nissan’s Maxima sedan, and the SR, SV, and SL trim levels come with fog lights. The base model comes standard with halogen high beam and projector low beam headlights. The new overall shape of the exterior has made the Altima 10% more aerodynamic, reducing wind noise in the cabin and improving fuel efficiency.

The interior has also been completely redesigned. The 2016 Altima features a 5- or 7-inch touchscreen display with NissanConnectSM and available NissanConnect Navigation. The cloth upholstery has a more open weave pattern, and the front seats have been entirely reshaped for a new look.

Get the Ride of Your Life in the Nissan Altima

2015 Nissan Altima - Ride of Your LifeWhen you think about a four-door sedan, racetrack thrills usually don’t come to mind. However, for a lucky group of people that’s exactly what they got with the 2015 Nissan Altima. This was all part of Nissan’s second “Ride of Your Life” campaign.

Last year, in the Ride of Your Life campaign, participants were told they were going for a ride in a real racecar; however, this car turned out to be the 2014 Altima in disguise. For this year’s fun, lucky guests were invited to a mall and each got a turn to attempt to “unlock” a large glass box. For the lucky few that got the box to open, they found a bright red 2015 Altima. A professional driver then took them on some thrilling laps around the track. And then, the passengers were given the chance to be the drivers.

“Consumer response to last year’s campaign was so strong, we just had to play it again, even bigger and better,” said Jeremy Tucker, vice president, Marketing Communications and Media, Nissan North America, in a statement. “You can see the excitement on the participants’ faces when the Altima is revealed at the mall, and especially after their track ride-and-drive experience – reinforcing our belief that Altima is no ordinary mid-size sedan.”

Stop by Lewis Nissan today to experience the thrills of the 2015 Nissan Altima for yourself.

Canadian Journalists Go On 7-Day “Altimate Rogue Trip”

If there’s something we love even more than cars here at Lewis Nissan, it’s bad puns. Last week, more than a dozen Canadian journalists drove some new 2015 Nissan Altimas and 2015 Nissan Rogue crossovers on a driving adventure that Nissan has called the “Altimate Rogue Trip.” We’re amused.

Altimate Rogue Trip - Nissan RogueThe road trip took place on the famous U.S. Route 66 over the course of seven days and 4,000 kilometers—about 2,485 miles for our Imperial unit-loving readers. They left from Chicago and reached Cuba (Missouri, not the island!) on day 1, Tulsa on day 2, then Amarillo, Santa Ana Pueblo, Albuquerque, Kingman, and after seven days, reached Santa Monica, their final destination. Or should we say they “Altimately” reached Santa Monica? Careful, any more bad puns and our editors might go Rogue on us!

For our entertainment, Nissan produced short clips reviewing each day’s interesting happenings. You can find all of the videos on Nissan Canada’s official YouTube channel!

Nissan Sentra and Altima To Get A Balanced Facelift

Nissan SentraWhen it comes to doing a refresh on new models, every carmaker walks a tightrope.  How do you make improvements while at the same time maintaining those qualities that fans and enthusiasts expect and appreciate?  Nissan is planning a refresh of their Sentra and Altima lines and it’s clear from comments by Shiro Nakamura, Nissan’s design chief, that the Japanese carmaker plans to be very careful about the process.

The refresh for these two models will take a page from the Nissan Murano and Nissan Maxima.  Nakamura says that the “very futuristic and strong statements” that these cars exude will lend the same attractive qualities to the Sentra and Altima.

Both models, the Nissan Sentra and the Nissan Altima, have been called “plain-looking” by journalists.  But sales are remarkably strong, so Nissan has to be doing something right.  Right?  Nakamura says the next generation will be “sporty” but still roomy and “affordable and practical.”  Now that’s balance!

We at Lewis Nissan are looking forward to these new changes. Until they arrive, stop by and check out Nissan’s great current models!

Nissan Altima Scores a Nod as One of the “10 Most Comfortable Cars”

2015 Nissan AltimaFor those of us with long commutes or who take frequent road trips, having a car that is comfortable and won’t leave you aching is a top priority. Nissan cares about your bum, too, and has put NASA-inspired “Zero Gravity” seats into the Altima.

With these seats in mind, KBB.com placed the Altima in sixth place on its list of the “10 Most Comfortable Cars Under $30,000.” With a starting MSRP of only $22,170, the Altima is one the three most affordable cars on the list.

“In addition to its advanced ‘Zero Gravity’ front seats, the 2014 Altima features soft-touch armrests as well as noise absorption materials to help reduce cabin noise and improve the overall experience inside the vehicle,“ said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations, in a statement. “Coupled with its innovative, stylish design and wide range of available technology features, the Altima is the perfect home-away-from-home. This honor from Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com further reaffirms our commitment to comfortable, quality products and the needs of our customers.”

Best-Selling Altima Ups the Ante for 2015

2014 Nissan AltimaNissan has announced some exciting changes to the Altima for 2015. Several trims will feature improved standard features, impressive technology, and a variety of options in an effort to make one of Nissan’s best-selling cars, even better.

The Altima’s top two V-6 trim levels will now come standard with NissanConnect infotainment system which features navigation and apps, and driver assist safety technology including blind spot warning, moving object detection and lane departure warning.

The mid-level 2.5 and 3.5 SV models will see a new 8-way power driver’s seat, and in an effort to improve fuel economy, the 3.5-liter V-6 Altimas have been tweaked for a one mile-per-gallon increase in fuel economy ratings, now getting 22 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 26 mpg combined.

Another small, but welcomed update is the black carpeting and lower side trim that now comes with the beige interiors. The contrasting new interior not only appears sleeker, but conveniently hides dirt that inevitably makes its way to the floor mats.

Along with these updates come with a bit of a price jump across all trim levels (except the Altima 2.5 S, which dropped in price). The jump is minimal compared to the features gained, and we think the updates are well worth the price.

Kelley Blue Book Awards Nissan’s Family-Friendly Lineup

2014 Nissan AltimaKelley Blue Book® recently released its list of the 12 Best Family Cars of 2014. Of the 12 vehicles on the list, one quarter of them are Nissans.

What constitutes the best family car? According to KBB®, room is a big deal (not surprising when you think of those road trips when all you heard was “He’s touching me!”). Fuel economy, entertainment and overall practicality were also deciding factors. KBB experts tested the vehicles by installing and uninstalling car seats, letting their kids hop in and out, and even checking out the back seat entertainment.

Three of Nissan’s five core models, the 2014 Nissan Altima, Rogue, and Pathfinder, were chosen as the Best Family Cars of 2014. The diversity of Nissan’s winning lineup is a testament to the automaker’s ability to meet customers’ various needs in every segment.

“Each of these vehicles was designed to fit the needs of a wide range of customers and situations, while also being family-friendly,” said Dan Mohnke, Nissan’s vice president of Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations.

“From Pathfinder’s more conventional family profile to Rogue’s wealth of amenities and clever cargo solutions to Altima’s ideal fusion of sportiness and practicality, the mainstream appeal of these vehicles’ designs has been borne out in robust sales numbers and third-party accolades such as these most recent awards from KBB.com.”

Nissan Sending Two Altima Supercars to Sydney for V8 Championship

2014 Nissan AltimaThe 2014 V8 Supercars Championship kicks off this Saturday, February 15, over in Australia at the Sydney Motorsport Park. Though it’s just a preseason test, the Nissan brand—and, by extension, the staff here at Lewis Nissan—has a lot riding on the race. The pre-season work will be our first chance to see Norton Nissan’s latest beauties, the Nissan Altima V8 Supercar, out on the track.

The new Norton Altimas sport Norton Hornet colors, especially a bright yellow exterior paint job. The 2014 Altimas also feature slight redesigns to add even great aerodynamics to the vehicles’ performance. All in all, these are two sharp-looking new V8s, and Nissan can’t wait to see them sting the competition in Australia.

Norton Nissan drivers James Moffat and Michael Caruso will be behind the wheel of these supercars—and both drivers expressed excitement and anticipation for the season. “We’re looking forward to the 2014 season,” said Moffat. “Motor racing is a ‘must deliver’ business, but more so for Nissan Motorsport this year. In this industry, nothing speaks stronger than results, and that’s what we are here to achieve this year.”

Caruso echoed that sense of responsibility to Nissan. “For Nissan Motorsport and the two Norton Altimas, it’s important that we show strong improvement in our second year, and it’s critical that we start to win races.”

Luckily for both Moffat and Caruso, it seems they are set up in the best possible car to deliver exactly the kind of results both they and their sponsors desire.
