Nissan Donates $1 Million and 10 Vehicles to Habitat for Humanity

Nissan NV Van - Habitat for HumanityNissan marked 10 years of partnership with Habitat for Humanity with a $1 million grant to help build sustainable and affordable homes for families in need of housing. The automaker also donated 10 vehicles—including NV commercial vehicles and Frontier trucks—to support the organization’s disaster response efforts.

Nissan has been allied with Habitat ever since it donated 50 trucks and mobilized employees to assist in building new homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina in 2005. In the time since, the automaker donated an additional 78 vehicles and more than $13 million while Nissan employees—including some of us at Lewis Nissan—have logged more than 70,000 volunteer hours with Habitat for Humanity.

“The generous donation from Nissan and the volunteers who continue to work alongside those in need of decent housing makes such a difference in the lives of families and communities,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International. “We are so appreciative of Nissan’s efforts to help build homes, communities and hope.”

The 2014 Nissan Frontier: What You See Is What You Get

The 2014 Nissan Frontier small pickup truck has remained true to its roots, keeping the same design for a whole decade. This is unusual for popular vehicles, because they usually end up undergoing drastic stylistic changes over the years to keep the model looking fresh and up-to-date.

2014 Nissan Frontier - Lewis NissanThe Frontier runs off of a V-6 engine that shows off its 261-horsepower and its abilities to handle all types of terrain. The New York Daily News reports that the “Frontier is a simply smaller, more nimble, and more maneuverable vehicle than a full-size truck. Tidier dimensions come in handy in urban parking situations, and when off-roading on tight trails.” Because of its small size, the Frontier is more practical to own than larger trucks, thanks to its superior functionality when it comes to performing everyday tasks.

Keeping the same design for ten years is a true accomplishment, especially when car companies are frequently scrambling to “rebrand” automobiles that are losing their appeal. The Frontier’s endurance can be viewed as being a testament to the truck’s reliability. Sometimes new isn’t always better, and if it isn’t broken, why fix it? Get your hands on your own steadfast 2014 Frontier here at Lewis Nissan!

2014 Nissan Frontier and Titan Rank on ‘Top 9 Most Fuel Efficient Trucks” List

2013 Nissan FrontierToday, drivers need trucks that offer ideal combinations of power and fuel efficiency. Not wanting for power, Nissan’s 2014 Frontier and Titan have proven themselves among the segment’s most fuel-friendly and have found themselves ranked among Edmunds.com’s  “Top 9 Most Fuel Efficient Trucks for 2014.”

The 2014 Nissan Frontier tied for second with 21 miles combined, and the Titan closed out the list with 15 mpg combined.

“People have associated pickup trucks with low gas mileage for many years, but we’re defeating that stereotype,” said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations, in a press release. “We’ve worked hard to produce pickups that not only provide excellent towing capability and ample cargo space, but also impressive fuel efficiency. This recognition by Edmunds validates our efforts to make fuel efficiency a priority across all platforms, from sedans to pickups.”

According to Edmunds’ criteria for their “Top 9 Most Fuel Efficient Trucks for 2014,” only fuel-efficient gas-only trucks were considered for the list with each model limited to one appearance. Were it not for this qualifier, the Frontier would have made the list a second time for its efficient 4.0-liter 24-valve V6 option (available in the SV V6 and Desert Runner trims).

Do you need a truck to get the job done quickly and efficiently? Do you want a pickup that eases the pain of the pump without sacrificing horsepower? Stop out to Lewis Nissan and test drive a Frontier or Titan this weekend!

Frontier is One of the Few Midsize Pickup Trucks Left!

The Nissan Frontier is one of the only midsize pickup trucks left on the market.  With fewer models in the market, the retail cost of the older models is rising. Used vehicles from model years 2007-2011 depreciated 1.3 percent across the board but midsize pickups from the same model years only decreased by 0.7 percent on average.  Midsize trucks are holding their value better than other products on the market simply because there are few brand-new options available. Nissan is one of three that offers a midsize pickup in their lineup.

The 2013 Nissan Frontier maximizes utility and performance making it a versatile truck. The Nissan Frontier has a 2.5-liter DOHC 16-valve 4-clinder engine. It has an EPA estimated 19 miles per gallon city and 23 miles per gallon highway. It’s available as either a King Cab, which features an extended cab, or a Crew Cab, which seats five passengers and has four doors. The 2013 Nissan Frontier is available in four trim options; S, SV 4-Cylinder, SV V6 and PRO-4X.

Lewis Nissan is proud to carrier the 2013 Nissan Frontier. For more information on the Frontiers we have in stock, please visit our website.
