Most cars get a slight refresh each year, even if they aren’t entering a new generation, but many of these improved vehicles still get a small price hike due to the inclusion of new tech and features for the new year. However, the new Nissan Sentra for 2016 just received a number of brand-new features, as well as a tweaked exterior design, and brand representatives have announced this 2016 model will not be more expensive than the previous one.
Aside from the new styling, the majority of the Sentra’s new features are available smart safety systems. Rear cross traffic alert, which detects other cars while backing up, and blind-spot monitoring are brand new to the Nissan Sentra’s repertoire, boosting the compact sedan’s safety score. Buyers can get these new features by adding on the new driver’s assist package, which is an additional $1,020 and includes integrated navigation.
The new Nissan Sentra is an attractive option to budgeting buyers who find the standard Sentra’s $17,650 price tag appealing. Additionally, the new Nissan Sentra helps drivers save on gas as well with a 40 mpg highway fuel rating according to the EPA. Because of the base Sentra’s low price, add-ons such as the driver’s assist package are significantly less costly and easier to obtain.
After joining forces with the city of Dallas in a new sponsorship agreement, Nissan took over Klyde Warren Park in the city in order to make a major announcement — the reveal of the new Nissan Pathfinder for 2017. Expected to go on sale in the States sometime this fall, the Pathfinder was unveiled in a dramatic event featuring a pop-up urban maze. Nissan called the event “#FindYourNewPath.”
Present at and participating in the event were Dallas city officials and representatives from the Parks and Recreation department. Nissan is now a Premier Sponsor of Klyde Warren Park, as well as a Presenting Sponsor of park events, and a sponsor of the park’s free Wi-Fi service. Nissan will also be considered the park’s official vehicle brand.
Jose Munoz, executive vice president of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and chairman of Nissan North America, Inc., commented, “Nissan has had a 35-year presence in Texas with a longstanding commitment to supporting activities at the local community level, whether school activities or Habitat for Humanity housing builds.”
The new Nissan Pathfinder offers a refreshed exterior, a new 3.5-liter V6 engine, and other features including an available motion-activated power liftgate. The new Advanced Drive Assist Display gives drivers access to new high-tech safety features.
