At the 2017 New York International Auto Show, Nissan showed off a hardcore off-road machine unlike any other—the Rogue Trailer Warrior Project. This unique vehicle was designed just for the show, so, unfortunately, you won’t be seeing it at Lewis Nissan.
The most noticeable feature is the snow/sand track. These tracks let the Rogue Trail Warrior glide right over the trickiest terrains. They are 30 inches high, 48 inches long, and 15 inches wide and are used in place of the Rogue’s normal wheels. While the suspension and wheel wells were modified for the tracks, all other powertrain components are standard, including the Rogue’s 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
In addition to the amazing khaki-painted tracks, the Trail Warrior has a custom camouflage body wrap and military-style yellow glassworks.
“This new Rogue Trail Warrior adds a new dimension to family adventures with its snow/sand tracks, gear basket, winch and camo paint,” said Michael Bunce, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc. “If you want to stand out from the crowd during a day on the slopes or the beach, this is the vehicle to take.”
If you could have an adventure in the Nissan Rogue Trail Warrior Project, where would you go?

If there’s something we love even more than cars here at Lewis Nissan, it’s bad puns. Last week, more than a dozen Canadian journalists drove some new 2015 Nissan Altimas and 2015 Nissan Rogue crossovers on a driving adventure that Nissan has called the “Altimate Rogue Trip.” We’re amused.
The road trip took place on the famous U.S. Route 66 over the course of seven days and 4,000 kilometers—about 2,485 miles for our Imperial unit-loving readers. They left from Chicago and reached Cuba (Missouri, not the island!) on day 1, Tulsa on day 2, then Amarillo, Santa Ana Pueblo, Albuquerque, Kingman, and after seven days, reached Santa Monica, their final destination. Or should we say they “Altimately” reached Santa Monica? Careful, any more bad puns and our editors might go Rogue on us!
For our entertainment, Nissan produced short clips reviewing each day’s interesting happenings. You can find all of the videos on Nissan Canada’s official YouTube channel!
The study is based on responses from more than 83,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2014 model-year cars and light trucks. It evaluates vehicles across 77 attributes to determine just how satisfying they are to own and drive.
The 2014 Nissan Rogue was ranked highest in the compact SUV segment thanks to its bold emotive styling, comfortable interior, affordable technologies, innovative passenger and cargo solutions, powerful engine, and overall flexibility.
The Nissan Quest earned its spot at the top on the back of its extensive family-friendly features, including full surround glass to deliver an airy, open interior environment, one-touch power sliding doors, Advanced Climate Control System, an always-available rear storage well, and quick release fold-flat 2nd and 3rd row seats.
Imagine you’re taking a cross-country road trip. You have three different friends who are seven feet tall and they are all in your backseat. They’ve all brought along suitcases that are even taller than them, and these are stacked floor to ceiling in your trunk. Oh, also it’s pouring rain and you’re stuck behind a semi spewing a constant flood onto your windshield. This may just sound like the premise of a really hacky slapstick comedy, but hang with me. You’d love to change lanes, of course, but how can you see well enough to make sure there’s no one back there? There’s no way!
No way, that is, until you get your hands on an all-new 2014 Nissan Rogue equipped with Smart Rearview Mirror technology. The new system features a camera mounted on the rear of the vehicle, capturing a video feed that is then projected onto the rearview mirror to provide a clearer and more extensive view than the traditional mirror. Plus, since the mirror is on the outside, you’ve precluded the possibility of the aforementioned terrible slapstick comedy; no matter who or what is in your back seat or trunk, you can still see cause the camera is behind it all!
“Smart Rearview Mirror will give our customers the best possible view no matter how tall the passengers in the back seat or how bad the road conditions,” said Andy Palmer, Chief Planning Officer and Executive Vice President of Nissan. “It also offers the possibility of new and exciting designs for our upcoming models, ensuring that appearance no longer has to be compromised for visibility and functionality. We’ll have the flexibility to create new shapes and to further improve aerodynamics for better driving dynamics and fuel efficiency.”
Of course, this new rearview mirror technology might be hard to get used to. No fear! Nissan allows you to easily toggle back and forth between the LCD monitor view and a traditional rearview mirror. One of the new Rogues, outfitted with the new rearview mirror technology, is currently sitting on display at the New York International Auto Show. The new rearview mirror will be slowly rolling out across global new car markets, so check back with us here at Lewis Nissan for more information about the new Rogue and its special rearview mirror very soon!
Unless you have a birthday or other special event to celebrate, January can be a pretty dull month. And, with the extreme winter weather across the country this year, January was pretty dismal for everybody.
Nissan, however, has cause to cheer. It was one of the few brands that actually had a jump in January sales numbers. Most brands saw their January sales numbers take a dive.
Compared to January 2013, Nissan had a gain of 11.8 percent in January. Leading those sales were the ever-popular, zero-emissions Nissan LEAF, which had nearly double the sales as last year. Both the Juke and the Rogue set January sales records with gains of 45.8 and 54.5 percent, respectively.
Two other models saw jumps in sales. One was the popular Altima with a 4.9 percent boost. The other was the small pickup, the Frontier, which had a dramatic increase of 87.9 percent.
Hopefully we have seen the last of the extreme winter weather and we can all enjoy a long, pleasant spring. Though, according to Punxsutawney Phil, we have six more long weeks of winter.
