Tailgating Tips For Your Nissan Titan

Tailgating Tips in Your Nissan Titan

Make your life even easier this season by setting up the ultimate tailgate! No one is happier than a person driving their new Nissan Titan to the big game and starting with a cookout. By following these tailgating tips you can stay organized, remember everything you need and have more fun instead of taking the time to clean.

  1. Prep your food before you get there – By skewering meat, shaping burgers, cutting up veggies and more before you arrive, you can spend less time preparing and more time celebrating!
  2. Pack the essentials (and backups) – Go through your whole meal and day to make sure that you have what you need, and enough of it. You know you’ll need charcoal, tongs, can openers, condiments, hand sanitizer, sunscreen, etc.
  3. Think of the cleanup – When packing your food, bring items in a plastic tub that can be used to store dirty dishes when you’re done. You can also make a cardboard box into a makeshift cooler (just add a couple trash bags inside for waterproofing) and you can just throw it away at the end!

In the end, you want your tailgate to be about having fun, not stressing about every detail. Make sure to find the perfect truck for your tailgating needs at Lewis Nissan in Beckley, WV. Let us find you the pickup of your dreams!

Nissan Adds TITAN King Cab to Lineup

Nissan has officially completed its truck lineup with the addition of a TITAN King Cab for both the standard TITAN and TITAN XD. With this new cab option, buyers have more choices than ever before to find the ideal truck for their needs.

2017 Nissan Titan King Cab

The King Cab offers available seating for up to six, has wide-opening rear doors, and even offers a “rear seat delete” option that comes with a flat loading floor and secure storage.

“The launch of the new King Cab body is the last step in a journey that began in December 2015 with the debut of the breakthrough TITAN XD, which continues to carve out a unique white space between competitors’ heavy-duty and half-ton trucks,” said Fred Diaz, division vice president and general manager, North America Trucks and Light Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc.

On the TITAN XD, when buyers choose the King Cab, the truck will be 230.5 inches long and have a 6.5-foot bed. It is available on the S, SV, and PRO-4X models and can be had with either the 5.0-liter V8 Turbo Diesel or the 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine.

With the standard half-ton Titan, the King Cab comes with a 6.5-foot bed on the S, SV, and PRO-4X. It is only available with the 5.6-liter V8 gasoline engine.

Nissan Titan Pickup Targets Untapped Niche in Market

The Nissan Titan pickup truck is targeting an “in-between” niche in its segment, giving it an edge over the big players in the industry such as Ford and Chevy. This special niche speaks specifically to drivers who like to have a big, powerful truck without having more power than they’d ever use, or drivers who bought a larger truck and miss the friendly handling and maneuverability of a smaller one. No matter the case, the Titan taps into that in between space to attract buyers.

Nissan Titan pickupInstead of focusing on power like other pickups – though the Titan certainly doesn’t compromise power in any way  – the engineers behind the Nissan Titan poured their efforts into ensuring the truck provides consumers with a better driving experience than they’ve ever known in a truck of its size. Particularly large hydraulic cab mounts lessen the effect of road shock. In addition, the tires have been specially tuned to give a smoother ride.

The Nissan Titan pickup sits at a towing capacity of about 6,000 lbs., which Nissan representatives say also fits neatly into that in-between niche between a lighter duty pickup and a bigger, more powerful truck. The Titan was also tested on ranchers in Texas in the early stages of development to ensure consumer satisfaction.

The Titan XD also received awards for the Luxury Pickup Truck of Texas and the Off-Road Pickup Truck of Texas, proving how versatile the vehicle truly is.

“This prestigious Truck of Texas award gives us tremendous validation heading into the TITAN XD launch in December,” said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing and Operations, U.S.A., Nissan North America, Inc. “We are humbly honored to accept this award.”

More “Tough Love” BobbleBret and Bret Michaels Nissan Ad Returns

Nissan NV3500 - Bret Michaels Nissan adLast year, the Bret Michaels Nissan Ad Campaign entitled “Tough Love” featured the rocker satirically singing the Lionel Richie/Diana Ross duet “Endless Love” while longingly adoring Nissan’s fleet of commercial vans undergoing durability testing went viral – and this year, Bret and his little pal BobbleBret, a bobble head version of the Poison crooner in the original ad, are back in a new “Tough Love” campaign.

“I have a bit of a self-deprecating sense of humor, so it was great to shoot a ‘tongue in cheek’ video and have fun with the idea of a power ballad written for a bunch of commercial vehicles…Nissan just felt right. They wanted to have fun and I did too, and it just really worked.” Michaels told the New York Daily News.

In the new sets of “Tough Love” segments, Michaels, who is the proud owner of a Nissan Titan truck, and BobbleBret can be seen getting coffee – decaf for BobbleBret, and admiring hoola-girl-dash-ornaments all while highlighting the Nissan commercial fleet.

New Nissan Titan XD Heads for Hollywood

The Nissan Titan XD just recently burst onto the scene up in Detroit. An all-new version of Nissan’s full-size truck, the XD debuted at the North American International Auto Show. But just like a budding movie star who made his or her name in a small indie film, the Titan XD is already headed to bigger things—like Hollywood. In fact, the XD is on its way from Detroit to Los Angeles to make a string of public appearances.

Nissan Titan XDThe new Titan, wearing a beautiful, bright yellow exterior, will showcase its powerful and muscular new appearance in several places across Los Angeles. If you can’t make it to the appearances, you can still follow the truck thanks to the hashtag #NissanTITAN.

However, if you want to test out the Titan XD’s amazing new 5.0-liter engine from Cummins, you’ll have to actually come see us here at Lewis Nissan later this year to get behind the wheel for yourself. For now, the LA appearances can whet your appetite, but to really get the full experience, you’ll need to take a test drive and learn the Titan’s new design for yourself.

Nissan Expands Next Generation of Titans

The Nissan Titan has not seen many changes since it’s been on the market for a decade. The 2015 Titan could make the truck more of a contender in the full-size truck market. The Ford F-150 is a serious competitor for the truck.

One of the vice presidents for Nissan North America optimistically predicted a 460 percent boost in sales for the redesigned pickup.  Pierre Loing, vice president of product and advanced planning and strategy for Nissan North America Inc was quoted saying, “Reaching 100,000 is certainly possible. We believe there might be a recipe to grab some of this huge segment”.

The full-size pickup market is the most profitable segment for the Detroit 3. Nissan is taking another shot in this market because sales for Chevrolet, Ford, Ram, Toyota, and Nissan reached almost 1.6 million units. There is a lot of ground that could be taken from its competitors. Sales for the Titan have been small compared to the Ford F-150, which is the number 1 selling vehicle.

To gain some of the market back, Nissan plans to add a regular cab model to the extended cab and crew cab. The pricing structure will also see some changes. Currently the Titan is more of a premium lifestyle pickup, they will offer lower-priced models with the redesign.

Nissan plans to focus on fuel economy as part of the redesign as well. Materials that will reduce weight and advanced technology will be utilized as well.

Mr. Loing stated that it will be hard to grab the attention of pickup intenders. He was quoted saying “It is domestic driven with a high loyalty to domestic products. So the question is, ‘Why bother?’ It is still a huge segment. Whether it is through build quality, equipment, some price advantage, you name it, it may work. We will try again.”
