New Nissan Sentra Gets New Features, No Price Bump

Most cars get a slight refresh each year, even if they aren’t entering a new generation, but many of these improved vehicles still get a small price hike due to the inclusion of new tech and features for the new year. However, the new Nissan Sentra for 2016 just received a number of brand-new features, as well as a tweaked exterior design, and brand representatives have announced this 2016 model will not be more expensive than the previous one.

New Nissan Sentra - Lewis NissanAside from the new styling, the majority of the Sentra’s new features are available smart safety systems. Rear cross traffic alert, which detects other cars while backing up, and blind-spot monitoring are brand new to the Nissan Sentra’s repertoire, boosting the compact sedan’s safety score. Buyers can get these new features by adding on the new driver’s assist package, which is an additional $1,020 and includes integrated navigation.

The new Nissan Sentra is an attractive option to budgeting buyers who find the standard Sentra’s $17,650 price tag appealing. Additionally, the new Nissan Sentra helps drivers save on gas as well with a 40 mpg highway fuel rating according to the EPA. Because of the base Sentra’s low price, add-ons such as the driver’s assist package are significantly less costly and easier to obtain.

106,528 Deliveries See to Nissan’s Best November Yet

Nissan set a new all-time November U.S. sales record with 106,528 total deliveries, a 10.7% increase over last year’s total of 96,197. This also marked a new November record for both the Nissan brand and the Infiniti brand, which delivered 93,376 and 13,152 vehicles, respectively. November was the best November for Nissan in awhile.

So far in 2013, Nissan Division has sold over a million vehicles, up 10.7% compared to the first eleven months of last year and already surpassing the total amount sold in 2012.

2014 Nissan AltimaHighlighting the sales record were the Nissan Altima, LEAF, Sentra, and Frontier. The Altima is never short on demand and set a new personal record by selling 24,604 models this November, up 21.2% compared to last year. The LEAF is still recognized as the best small electric vehicle on the market, with a new record of 2,003 sales and continuing its streak of setting new monthly records each month since March, when the new model was launched.

The Nissan Sentra is finally matching consumer demand and was up an incredible 62.5% this month, followed closely by the Frontier which was also up 54.6%.

2014 Nissan Rogue Has Advanced NissanConnect

The 2014 Nissan Rogue has numerous advanced technology systems that are designed to help differentiate the Rogue from its competition. The NissanConnect system stands out without standing out. The standard NissanConnect connected car services system combines hands-free technology, the owner’s or even passengers’ smartphones and an optional touch-screen display to help connect the Rogue to the outside world. It can load custom music libraries, social networks, or navigation, traffic weather or other information sites. This is part of Rogue’s affordable technology concept and NissanConnect comes with three years of complimentary service for the basic apps package.

Pierre Loing, vice president, Product Planning, Nissan North America, Inc., said “As demand for in-vehicle connectivity systems continues to grow, Nissan is taking the lead in providing affordable, use-friendly technology under the NissanConnect banner with critical core vehicles such as the 2014 Nissan Rogue, Altima, Sentra and Versa Note. We expect more than 1.5 million Nissan vehicles will be connected by 2015, with our cloud-based model allowing for periodic updates and the launch of new apps throughout ownership of the vehicles.”

Loing went on to add “Part of the NissanConnect system’s innovative design is the flexibility to introduce new apps throughout the ownership experience, including a range of projected upcoming music, social networking, entertainment and travel apps. It’s another example how the all-new Nissan Rogue delivers ‘Innovation that Excites’- empowering customers to personalize their driving experience. Users are able to “check in” on Facebook to share location with their social network – or navigate to where their friends have checked in. In navigation-equipped vehicles they can also use Google to find new restaurants or navigate any city like a local.”

The 2013 Nissan Sentra Debuts

After a long wait, and many attempts at a spy shot, the all-new 2013 Nissan Sentra makes its debut. And though it won’t be launched until later this fall, we have the information needed to peak your interest.

The 2013 Nissan Sentra follows in the footsteps of Nissan’s larger Altima sedan, in terms of design, upgraded technology, and most of all fuel economy. The Sentra offers premium touches for a compact such as LED running lamps, 17-inche wheels, and LED taillamps. Under the hood the new Sentra has actually received a downgrade, as the engine is decreased from a 2.0-Liter inline four to a 1.8-Liter unit. But on the flip side the compact has also lost 150 lbs compared to the former model. This being said the engine produces 130 HP and 128 Lbs.-Ft. of Torque and is mated to the company’s next-generation Xtronic continuously variable transmission. Only the base 2013 Nissan Sentra S is available with a six-speed manual transmission. The new CVT means that fuel economy is vastly improved, with most of the models rated a 34 MPG. Adding the extra-efficient FE+ trim package will net you a full 40 MPG on the highway with the new CVT!

In addition to the S, S FE+, SV, SV FE+ and SL, Nissan will offer an SR trim that adds unique five-spoke 17-inch alloys, sport front and rear fascias, a sport front grille, lower body side sill extensions, fog lights, a rear spoiler and a chrome exhaust tip. Sadly, no suspension or powertrain upgrades are included with the “sporty” SR, but inside, silver trim is mixed in with unique cloth seats.

So at last the long wait is over, well to see it at least, now we just have to wait for the new 2013 Nissan Sentra to hit lots before we can get our hands on one.
